Jonathan has 20 years experience in branding, distribution and licensing on a global basis, within both retail and promotional sectors.
Jonathan previously co-founded Global Inc. Limited, which sold licensed clothing products to the UK and European retail market; Global Accessories Limited, which designs, manufactures and distributes casual footwear and apparel in the UK; and Watermelon Limited, a Licensing and Design Consultancy, which provides design solutions to retailers, licensors and manufacturers.
David founded Global Brands with Jonathan in 2003 and focuses on strategy, acquisitions, partnerships and the group’s capital structure.
David is also the Chairman of Olive Group, a leading, global provider of integrated risk mitigation and security solutions. David previously worked in fund management and corporate finance with Union Bancaire Privée, Banco Garantia and Flemings. David is also a member of the Advisory Board of the St.Louis Rams. He graduated with a B.A. Hons. degree in Law from Trinity College, Cambridge.
Matheny has 20 years of worldwide consumer products marketing, brand management, retail and licensing experience.
In March 2005, Mark Matheny was appointed Chief Executive Officer for Global Brands Group. In 2006 he was also appointed Co-Chair of the Board of Directors. He is responsible for leading the team and building Global Brands Group’s licensing business through intellectual property acquisitions (e.g., FIFA, IPC Media, Marvel (Japan), PGA Tour) and expansion of its sales and marketing network.
Prior to GBG, Matheny served as Executive Vice President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), a division of Warner Bros., a Time-Warner Company. Mark worked at WBCP for 15 years, and is credited with building WBCP’s international licensing operation as an industry leader which generated $4.5 billion US Dollars in annual retail revenues with thousands of stores worldwide.
Prior to joining Warner Bros., Mark worked as a Lobbyist for the Alliance of Motion Picture & TV Producers; and at Zinka, Inc., an innovative sunscreen and cosmetics firm.
In 2006, Matheny was also appointed Chairman of the licensing industry’s trade association, Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA).
Gary Schoenfeld has 20 years of international brand management, retail, merchandising and private equity experience.
Gary was President and CEO of Vans, Inc (Nasdaq: VANS) when it was acquired in 2004 having for nine years lead the successful turnaround and four-fold growth of Vans into a leading youth lifestyle brand and the 7th largest athletic footwear company worldwide which included over 150 of its own retail stores in the U.S and Europe.
During his career Gary has served on the board of several companies including 11 years as a Director of 24 Hour Fitness, Inc. the world’s second largest chain of health clubs which grew from $40 million in revenues in 1994 to $1.1 billion by 2005. Gary is currently a director of Camelback Products, LLC.
Martin is an experienced retailer and strategic operations director with a proven track record of devising & developing demanding, highly effective retail strategies and then delivering exceptional sales and service results; in complex, dispersed, fast changing, highly competitive global international markets including the emerging markets of China & India.
Prior to GBG Martin led Vodafone’s global retail business and his previous experience includes retail management with Marks & Spencer; Starbucks Coffee, Whitbread and Scottish & Newcastle Hotels and Restaurants. Martin holds an MBA from Oxford (UK) specializing in international marketing and delivery of customer experience. Martin is a regular speaker at Retail and Marketing Week conferences and forums. Martin lives in Singapore.
Colin has over 25 years of experience working within a range of organizations from High Street fashion brands to high profile sports marketing and global brand management organisations.An experienced General Manager with a track record in building sustainable revenue growth through core business activities while driving key strategic brand building initiatives.
Prior to joining GBG in February 2007, Colin was Business Director of Global Football Apparel for NIKE where he was responsible for all product creation, merchandising and operations for NIKE football apparel globally, driving revenue growth from $180m to over $650m during his leadership. During Colin’s Nike career he established the European Marketing Services team, established Nikes Strategic response business and recently led the highly successful launch of Nike Pro in to the European market.
Prior to joining Global Brands Group in 2007, Simon served as Reebok’s vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In 2005, Hawkins achieved sales in excess of $1 billion for the company, managed a sales force in excess of 177 employees and expanded the EMEA region into one of Reebok’s largest global regions.
Before joining Reebok, Simon developed international football business and managed regional sales in the United Kingdom for leading athletic apparel manufacturer Umbro International. Simon graduated from Seaford College, Petworth, West Sussex.
Chris joins GBG in December 2006, arriving from MTV Networks Asia Pacific, a part of Viacom Inc., where he was the General Counsel based in Singapore.
In this role he was responsible for all legal and contract risk management for the group's broadcast, licensing and digital media businesses and the commercialisation, management and protection of the group's brands and other intellectual property. Chris was Company Secretary and on the board of directors of the group's joint ventures.
Previously he was Regional Counsel for Royal Ahold NV in Singapore, handling investments, joint ventures and the operations of this major international food retailer and wholesaler. Chris started his legal career at Baker & McKenzie, London specializing in corporate and intellectual property law, before moving to Clifford Chance, Singapore. Chris holds a BA (Hons) Law from Durham University and attended the College of Law, York, England.
Andrew joined GBG from 3, the mobile phone and video operator, where he was Director of Managed Content.
Andrew’s responsibilities at 3 included acquiring content, business development and making strategic investments. Prior to 3, Andrew also worked at Sportal, BT and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Dave’s responsibilities include overseeing the end-to-end business execution, working closely with all stakeholders to ensure world class service.
Prior to joining Global Brands Group in April 2008, Dave worked for 12 years within various divisions of the Adidas group, and most recently heading up European Operations for the Reebok brand for Europe, Middle East and Africa, responsible for customer relationship management across the region; in addition to ensuring best in sector product to market processes across the breadth of the demand chain.
John Moore is Managing Director of Global Brands Group (Australasia).
Prior to joining Global Brands John's professional experience includes being the Asia Pacific Regional CEO for The Nuance Group - the world's largest airport travel retailer; Group General Manager Marketing and Image for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games; and Regional Vice President Asia Pacific for WBCP.
